Halloween Day in the 417: Every Trunk-or-Treat, Festival & Free Event on Saturday, October 31
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, friends — and the whole 417 is showing up for it. 🎃
I went hunting for every trunk-or-treat, fall festival, costume parade, and free family event happening on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from right here in Springfield all the way out to the little towns, so you don't have to spend your evening scrolling a dozen different pages. There are 66 events on this list, and the overwhelming majority of them are completely FREE.
Everything is organized by area so you can find something close to home, pick one or two, and call it a wonderful day. Prices are marked exactly how I found them — FREE, a dollar amount, or "not stated" when the listing didn't say. Church and community events can change, so give the organizer's page a quick peek before you load up the kids.

💛 One last thing, from one mom to another
You do not have to hit five events, sew a Pinterest-worthy costume, or drive three counties over to make Halloween magic. Pick the one closest to home, let the kids fill a bucket, take the picture, and be done while everyone's still smiling. Some of my favorite Halloween memories are a church parking lot, a pillowcase of candy, and a kid asleep in the back seat before we got home.
Save this list, send it to a mom friend who needs it, and if your town is hosting something on Halloween that I missed, tell me — the little towns deserve just as much love as the big ones. Happy Halloween, 417! 🎃
